Member biographies

We wrote the book on African-American nurses in Seattle... literally.

Whether you're considering joining the Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses Organization, donating money to our endowment or scholarship funds, or applying for a scholarship and wondering about mentors, it helps to know a little about the principal players. We're setting aside this part of our Website to tell you a little about some of our key members.

We're still editing the biographies for our current members. More will be posted here soon.

Founding members

Our founding members' stories are so rich that a book has been written about them, and all its proceeds go to the MMPNO Endowment fund. To find out the details, read more about African American Registered Nurses in Seattle: The struggle for opportunity and success, written by MMPNO member Dr. Lois Price Spratlen.
